So I found this great toy for Mya at toysrus that I was going to buy her until I got to checkout. To ship this item that was less than 4 pounds to Alaska was going to cost me $50. This item that comes in a box smaller than the subwoofer I got for Tyrone from Crutchfield for free shipping!!! To ship the same toy to my mom in Washington is $8 and to me is $50. The difference is these companies think they have to use UPS or FedEX to get things to the last frontier but guess what we do have USPS up here and stamps cost the same here as the do down there. These sites always say free shipping to the continental US...last I checked, Alaska is on the same continent as California. Luckily I shopped around and Amazon.com will ship it to me for $11.
